Abstract
In this study, the effect of fear of COVID 19 on service sector employees was investigated. Within the scope of the study, it was also tried to determine how the work motivations of service sector employees were affected by COVID 19. The study covers different occupational groups working at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Dursun Odabaş Medical Center. In the study, data were collected using the questionnaire technique by using quantitative methods. An online questionnaire was applied to 410 employees. The first part of the questionnaire included questions about demographic characteristics, the second part included questions about fear of COVID 19, and the third part included questions about work motivation. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS-20 statistical package program. As a result of the analyzes made, it was determined that the employees were partially afraid of COVID 19. It has been observed that the work motivation of the employees is low. As a result of the study, it was determined that there is a negative relationship between the fear of COVID 19 and work motivations of physicians, administrative personnel, health workers and permanent workers working in the hospital. It is thought that this study is important in terms of revealing how the employees who serve in different statuses in the health sector are affected while working under pandemic conditions. As a result of the study, various suggestions were made for the work motivation of the service sector employees.
